This deluxe 2 cd set features one disc of NEW recordings of the Hollywood Blue Flames with KIRK FLETCHER & JR. WATSON and special guest KIM WILSON. Having played together for over 25 years, it's no surprise that this set is as solid as a rock. With the bright and always inventive KIRK FLETCHER featured on most tracks and KIM WILSON as special guest, this is as good as contemporary blues gets....period.
DISC 2 features VINTAGE LIVE recordings of the FATS BAND in their prime from 1979-1985. Many of these tracks have traded hands in blues circles for a couple decades, but it's great to hear them re-mastered and super clean. The set opens with a live recording done by BLUEBEAT owner, Charlie Lange in Felton, California with the PALADINS as the rhythm section in 1985, as well as some stellar support to blues giants EDDIE "CLEANHEAD" VINSON (from Monterey Jazz Festival) and ROY BROWN.
